Congratulations to Sophie Carenco, DR CNRS, member of the NMSP department at CINaM.

She received her medal under the dome of the Institut de France on Tuesday, October 28, at 3 p.m.

Sophie Carenco explores nanochemistry, at the crossroads of molecular chemistry and materials science. She designs and manufactures nanomaterials containing metals (nickel, cobalt, etc.), rare earths (gadolinium, cerium, etc.) and light elements (phosphorus, sulfur, carbon), controlling their crystal structures and surfaces. She studies their reactions with small molecules such as hydrogen to develop new catalysts that are effective under mild conditions. She is also interested in the use of nanoparticles for applications in optics and in the context of energy transition.
