Ashwin Pillai
My name is Ashwin A. Pillai, and I am from Ernakulam, India. I completed my BSMS Dual Degree program at IISER Tirupati from 2018 to 2023. Currently, I am pursuing my PhD at CINaM, Aix-Marseille University (AMU), where I am conducting research on "High Harmonic Generation" under the supervision of Dr. Claudio Attaccalite and Prof. Aurelien Manchon.
I am developing a theoretical framework for High Harmonic Generation (HHG) in solids using numerical simulations and Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations. The primary focus is to study how ferroelectric polarization influences and controls HHG. Additionally, the broader aim of this project is to explore the impact of interfacial states, ferroelectric polarization, spin-orbit coupling, and Berry curvature on high-harmonic generation.
