Microfluidic Crystallization

In the context of Microfluidic crystallisation, we are developing :

a versatile microfluidic tool that is easy to use by non-specialists for the optimisation and screening of crystallization conditions, the rapid establishment of phase diagrams and the measurement of crystal nucleation kinetics (volume nL),

the controlled generation of microdroplets (volume from pL to fL) for the study of crystal nucleation in confined environments,

the use of extremely sharp nano-electrodes (radius of curvature of a few nanometres) to trigger and localise nucleation in time and space, either mechanically or by the creation of an intense electric field, localised in the vicinity of the tip and allowing the control of flows in the solution
