Venue Information

RCOM11 will be held in Marseille on the Campus Pharo of Aix Marseille Université (Gastaut amphitheater) near the scenic site of the Palais du Pharo, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the Vieux Port in Marseille, France.ihttps://www.marseille-tourisme.com/en/

The Palais du Pharo is an “imperial residence” built by the architect H.-M. Lefuel and donated by the city to Napoleon III as waterfront residence. The name Pharo (from the Occitan faròt) designates the lighthouse that was there from the 14th century and delimited the entrance to the Vieux Port (built 2600 years ago by sailors from Phocée (Greece)). After Napoleon’s death in 1873, the Empress Eugenie, granted the palace to the city which became the Pharo school, unique European military institute specialized in the field of tropical medicine, during more than 100 years until 2013.
