Advanced Bipolar Membrane (BPM) Systems for Energy Applications: Development of membrane electrode assembly (MEA) electrolyzers for efficient water dissociation. Synthesis and nano-assembly of nanomaterials for coating polymer membranes used in water electrolyzers. Investigation of novel nanoparticle catalysts for water dissociation. Kinetic and thermodynamic analyses to elucidate the fundamental mechanisms governing reactions at the BPM junction.
Collaborations with the Fritz Haber Institute (Max Planck Society, Berlin), the Institut Européen des Membranes (IEM, Montpellier), and RWTH Aachen University.
