2D inorganique

Le travail consiste à déposer un matériau de faible épaisseur (de l’ordre d’une monocouche) sur un monocristal d’un métal noble comme, Ag, Au, Ni, Pt. Depuis la découverte de Graphène, d’autres matériaux susceptibles de modifier leurs propriétés électriques dues à leurs structures périodiques 2D sont étudiés dans notre groupe.

La figure 1 montre les caractéristiques structurales du Silicène, équivalent de Graphène pour le silicium, sur l’Ag(111).

La figure 2 montre les caractéristiques structurales du Zn sur Ag(110). Contrairement du silicène qui peut devenir un conducteur, la monocouche de Zn peut devenir un isolant de type Mott.
