Nanocube epitaxy for the realization of printable monocrystalline nanophotonic surfaces

A new paradigm to fabricate printable monocrystalline gold nanostructures with an arbitrary geometry is demonstrated using nanocubes as building blocks. A careful balance of oxydation and reduction processes at their surface allows liquid-phase epitaxy with extensive morphology control at near ambient temperature. The extended monocrystalline nanophotonics array of highest quality can be printed from PDMS to any receiving substrate.
