Équipement ultra-vide pour des applications en spintronique
Système de croissance sous ultra-vide (UHV), dédié aux hétérostructures pour des applications en spintronique (figure 7).
L’installation est composée de :
- une chambre d’introduction équipée d’un carrousel de stockage (molyblocks)
- trois chambres MBE de croissance :
- MBE-1 → cellules d'évaporation de Si, Ge, C, Al, P, Mn
- MBE-2 → évaporateur par faisceau d'électrons (Ru, V...), cellules d'évaporation classiques et hautes températures (Au, Cr, Co, Mn, Sn, etc)
- OMBE → molécules organiques
- une chambre de préparation de surfaces (décapage ionique)
- un tube de transfert sous UHV de 4 mètres de long connectant les 5 chambres sus-mentionnées
La taille maximale des échantillons est de 5 cm / 2” en diamètre
Les portes échantillons chauffant peuvent monter jusqu’à des températures de 1100°C.
Nous disposons également :
- d'une valise sous ultravide de transfert d'échantillons,
- d'un adaptateur porte-échantillon molyblock / "raquette" Omicron.
Les cellules d’évaporations suivantes sont installées à demeure dans les chambres :
- cellules Knudsen : Ge, Mn, Sn, Al, Cr, Co, Au, molécules organiques
- cellules dites de dopage : Si, C, GaP (P) (SUSI-D, SUKO-D et DECO-D, MBE-Komponenten)
- évaporateur par faisceau d'électrons (Ru, V selon charge dans le creuset, marque Ferrotec)
Les processus de croissance peuvent être caractérisés in situ par :
- microbalance à quartz
- RHEED (Reflection high-energy electron diffraction)
- AES (Auger electrons spectroscopy)
